Condolences
Michelle Milam Crime Prevention, RPD October 6, 2008

Brad was simply a wonderful person. I will never forget how he came in on days off and worked at the last minute when I needed a canine. He'sd always say, "I've got your back."  I remember listening to him talk about thw work he was doing in central with such a glow. People would literally come up to the patrol car and yell out to him. They respected him, and he respected them.

To the family, know that God is near to the broken hearted and those crushed in spirit. The love we have for him extends to you. I am praying that the Almighty God's renewing and refreshing love comfort you in this time and be near to you. We thank the family for sharing Brad with us, and we thank God for sharing him with us first.

Cindy Haden To Brad's family October 6, 2008
To Brad’s family:  Take heart in the fact that Brad was so well loved and respected in the Richmond community.  He will be sorely missed.  I pray for strength for you in the coming days.  Lean on those who offer comfort and help.  Look out for Rico, as he will need comfort, too.  He will miss his best friend.  I am so sorry for your loss.
Chris Tallerico Such a loss... October 6, 2008

Brad,

Like Mitch, I've started to write this many times and havent been able to get through it.  My family and I loved you soooo much...You were like a little brother to me; I always looked forward to our daily chats, our weekend breakfasts and fight nights on Pay-Per-View.  You may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten...

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen

I did not know Officer Moody, but i  wish  the family peace, strength and love.

I can not image the loss you are going through and i wish i had magic words to make it all better but I don't.  I will keep you in my prayers and hope time and love makes it a little better in the days ahead.  God bless.  Karen Zelis Holder

Jun Fernandez Deputy DA October 6, 2008
For the years I've known you, Brad, you have always been an outstanding human being and officer.  Even on those hard weeks of work, along side your faithful friend, Rico, I saw you holding that smile and continuing to take on whatever came your way.   In your memory, I will keep close to my heart your most positive trait as my own:  COURAGE.  As long as I keep this courage, which I will, you will always be remembered.  My prayers and condolences to the Moody family, friends and fellow officers.  May God continue to bless you and protect you from harm's way.
Gwyn Andrews a brief thought October 6, 2008
I never had the honor of working directly with Officer Moody but had heard of him in always the most positive of ways.  It is always a tragedy when a hero is taken before their time and my deepest sympathies and condolensces go out to all those who knew, worked with and loved Brad Moody.
Miles Bailey Police Officer October 6, 2008

Brad,

I still can't believe that your gone. It seems like just yesterday that I was shotgun in your car and we were out chasing "Sideshow Bob" at 5th and Elgin. I remember seeing you when I was a cadet in the police department and me thinking "I want to be him". Memories like that, your advice when I was feeling down and out, and just your overall presence makes you a mountain of a man and your will dearly be missed.

I love you Brad....say hi to everyone up there for me....

Mark Gagan A Poem October 6, 2008

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Chris Magnus From the Chief . . . October 6, 2008

Brad's been the kind of officer I've always admired the most:  hard-charging, committed to his job, a leader within the department, and someone who saw his work as a kind of calling.  More than that, though, Brad was also someone who had a deep sense of right and wrong, who cared deeply, not only for his family, but for his fellow officers--and for the community.  Even the "bad guys" could count on being treated fairly and with respect by Officer Moody, which is why so many of them had respect for him.

I have been overwhelmed by the number of community residents who have expressed their condolences and sympathies for Brad's family and our "police family" following Saturday's tragedy.  Brad touched a lot of lives in our city and he had a big impact on the people he worked with, myself included.

Brad was one of the best . . . and our hearts and prayers go out to his wife and other family members.  I am proud to have had him as a member of our department.  His ready smile, his commitment to his job, his caring for his co-workers, and his pride in his profession will be something we remember always.

Chief Chris Magnus

Ed Medina Deputy Chief October 6, 2008

Brad,

You have touched so many in the years you have been here.  Your work and great character will not be forgotten.  The men and women of the Richmond Police Department will hold the line strong for you and make you proud of how they carry on.  It is the least we can all do as a testament to you.  You have made us all very proud and we will miss you.
