Susan,
I know I have never met you, but from your words I feel your pain. I know that nothing anyone says will lift the pain you feel, the loss you grieve and replace the love you so very much miss. Brad was and will always be that "extrodinary man" that we all were so fond of. I have visted this site everyday, just reading the words of all that loved him in life and mourned his passing. I know that only time will bring closer to your pain, but as seeing the two beautiful daughter you both created they need you. Emma and Madison will not only grow to know the father they lost, but they will love and respect the mother that they have. God will give you strength to move on with life and you will find it somewhere sometime in you to let your grief turn only into fond memories. Brad chose you as his life partner for a reason, knowing that being a cops wife you have to be strong, you have to know how to survive, and you have to know how to love... Those are all qualities he found in you. You are a remarkable woman for all that you have endured, and will continue to. My prayers are with you and your daughters every day and night.
A friend of mine shared with me last night a heartbreaking story that you so kindly delivered a message for her during Brad's last hours. She was struck with grief of the news of Brad's passing that she didn't know what to do, but to write to him. Your act of kindness, put her heart at ease and there are no words she could ever express to let you know what a wonderful woman you are. Being her friend for over 13 years, and knowing what he ment to her was something that I cried over. But when she shared that story with me my heart just stopped. We both agreed that you are an inspirational wife, that Brad would be so proud of and your daughters will grow up strong, honorable and passionate as it seems both you and Brad are.
As a wife myself, I could never imaginge the pain your heart, body and mind are going through. But as a mother I know the strenght that you have to posses to wake up every morning and see you two beautiful daughters. Brad will never be forgotten by all that loved him, and within time your pain will slowly fade. My love, prayers, and thoughts are with you...

To The Moody Family,
I reside in Woodstock, Ontario Canada and work in court services with our local police service. I read Officer.com on a daily basis and was emotionally taken by the story of Bradley's tragic death and wanted to send you a short note of condolence. I wear a commemorative pin on my uniform to fallen officers which says " HEROES IN LIFE NOT DEATH" When I visited this website that pin stuck out in my mind. Bradley was a true hero in life, a gentlmen who gave unselfishly to his community and his family, a great father to his children and wonderful husband to his wife. These are but a few things I gleaned from this memorial website. May he rest in peace. May the good lord grant you courage and strength in this your hour of need. He will always be on duty with us! Our prayers are with you all. God Bless.

When I left this world without you
I know it made you blue.
Your tears fell so freely,
I watched; I know this is true.
While you were weeping,
Days after I passed away,
While all was silent within me,
I saw you kneel to pray.
From this wonderful place called heaven
Where all my pain is gone,
I send a gentle breeze to whisper,
"My loved ones, please go on"
The peace that I have found here
Goes far beyond compare
No rain, no clouds, no suffering,
Just love from everywhere.
You need not be troubled
Just stay close to God in prayer
Someday we'll be reunited
My love, HIS love surrounds you always,
EVERYWHERE!

Brad i was supposed to go see your brother last nite - we are such great friends. Anyway my husband - who is disabled-waiting for an organ- called and needed me. I had to call your brother and tell him I couln't meet with him. Brad I felt so BAD. He is hurting sooo bad right now and I felt like I was letting him down. Oh my gosh he is missing you so much. He is still trying to make sense of all this. He loved, and still loves you so much.
Brad take care - Jaime will watch over down here - you watch over all of us from up there - An ANGEL from God has left us and gone home - we will all see you soon

To the family, friends and Law Enforcement family of Officer Bradley Moody,
I am so deeply saddened for the loss of your Loved one. My heart truly grieves with you at this time. I believe that there is a special place in God's heart for the men and woman that have made the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty. They are the best of the best. Officer Moody was a man of Valor and will never be forgotten.
May God's warm embrace comfort you at this most difficult time.
I received great comfort in the book of Psalms when my husband passed. God's word can fill the void that has been left in our hearts.
Sincerely,
Ruth

I read about the death of Officer Moody on Officer Down Memorial Page. I have never been to Richmond,California . I would like to express my condolences to the family, friends, Rico, and to the members of the Richmond Police Department. Attached is a poem I wrote called A Cop for a police Officer here in Des Moines that was killed last year in a Car Accident I thought that you all would enjoy this poem as well. Rest in Peace Officer Moody, keep protecting from the streets of heaven.
A Cop
He watches a perp run and chases him.
He watches traffic on a street.
He answers a call.
He arrests a suspect.
He attends a fallen comrade's funeral.
He feels things like me and you.
He's another human being just doing his job.
If you see him in his patrol car,
He's making sure we obey the laws.
A job he took a vow to protect and serve.
He's doing his job he's paid to do.
He loves helping others.
He loves answering questions.
Otherwise he wouldn't be a cop.
A cop dedicated to protect and serve.

This is to Susan and the rest of Ofc. Moody's family. I began my LE career as a reserve officer in Richmond where Brad Moody was my FTO. I can say the man loved his job and he truly cared about the people he served. When the girls get old enough and they ask what kind of a man their daddy was, just tell them that he was a man who loved his job and died going to the aid of a fellow officer. I remember him telling me that the most important call that we respond to was a call for assistance from a brother officer. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ofc. Brad Moody was a great example of this.

A True Lover of Country Music |
October 24, 2008 |
Hello, I wanted to take a moment to extend my deepest, sincerest thoughts of appreciation for all that Officer Moody did for our community. I did not know him personally but a good friend of mine, Doug H. took the time to tell me about who Brad was, what he did, and especially how much he loved country music!!! I was told that was how Officer Moody rolled. He rolled with Alan Jackson, Alabama and all the other fine country music artists. I am personally saddened by this loss but I wanted to pass this poem on to you. It was a poem given to me shortly after my father passed away 5 years ago. My mother asked me to read it at his funeral because she thought that I would be the only one who wouldn't cry while reading it. My Brother-in-law bet me $20 bucks that I would cry so I took the bet and became $20 dollars richer that day. Forgive my rambling on, I just wanted to make you all laugh but getting back on track I would like to say that the meaning is timeless so take a deep breath, get some Kleenex and read..."I'm Free"
Don't grieve for me for now I'm free
I'm followng the path God laid for me
I took God's hand when I heard the call
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day
To laugh to love to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that place at the close of day
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared a laugh a kiss
Ah yes these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full I've savored much
Good friends good times a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now God set me free.
