He is Gone

He is Gone
You can shed tears that Bradley is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what he would want:
smile, open your eyes,
love and go on.
Please continue to pray for the Moody Family. The Moody Family has lost someone very special to them.
Rest in Peace Officer bradley moody
Pray that God will move in on them with illumination and insight so they can fully grasp and understand that even though the death of a close loved one is a very painful experience - that their loved one's death is now a new beginning for them.
Their close loved one is now in the most perfect place imaginable and they will be reunited with them once again in just a very short period of time. This life on this earth is just for a very brief moment in the eternal scheme of things - but the life to come, where they are at now, will be forever.
Remember what the Holy Spirit Himself has spoken - your loved one is no longer "dead in your past" - your loved one is now "fully alive in your future" - which is heaven.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have been seeing the memorial on the way home at night and had not heard what happened, so I searched tonight to find out. My late husband received a kidney and pancreas from a generous soul such as your Brad; I know it isn't much, but know how profound is the gift of life he gave to another soul who is loved by his family and friends as much as Brad is by you. My husband lived only five years after his transplant, but many others live much, much longer. As someone who lost her husband in 2001, please know how much my heart goes out to you, Susan, and to your kids.

Jim Filippi...
You don't know me, but your message to Brad touched my heart. Your words gave life to the pictures flashing on this website. My heart aches for you, your sister, and your nieces. There will never be a reason why this happened, nor will any of it ever make sense. As the days pass you will find the strength to go on and be there to comfort your sister. Susan will need all of your love and support. The image of her hugging Brad's casket will be with me forever. It is a reminder that we never know when God will call our name. I will continue to pray for your family, and to you I dedicate this poem:
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints.
Other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow, or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
"You promised me, Lord, that if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of prints in the sand.
Why, when I have needed you most, you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have seen only one set of footprints is when I carried you."

Our thoughts |
October 18, 2008 |
Our deepest sympathy to the Moody Family and friends.
My husband and I just learned of the passing of Brad this evening, Friday, Oct. 17th. We were told what happened by James Moody, the general manager of the Speghetti Factory in Rancho Cordova. My husband and I are long time (13 years) patrons of The Speghetti Factory at that location, and, have come to know James pretty well. I could tell, when James came over to our table, he just wasn't quite the same as he usually is. I said, "you seem a bit different tonight." Then he told me of the horrible loss of his brother Brad. I was completely stunned and saddened. How James got through the story of telling us, I'll NEVER know. When James told me, Brad has a wife and two small daughters, I literally had to look down at my salad because of the tears. For a couple minutes, I couldn't bring myself to look at James. As James spoke for those couple of moments, I also looked off in the distance, trying to fight the emotions, but, I was losing. I also didn't want to make the situation worse for James, I'm sure he was suffering inside but hid it VERY well. James is a real nice guy with alot of class. I could tell, he is a family man and, is close to his family. He confirmed that tonight when he talked with us at our table.
I was so VERY happy to learn, through James, that, Brad's Police Dog is ok and, that he will stay with Brad's wife and the two girls. That makes me VERY pleased.
We didn't know or had never met Brad. From what I've read, he was an OUTSTANDING MAN, OFFICER, DAD, HUSBAND, FATHER, SON, UNCLE, and Brother. I have the HIGHEST REGARD for law enforcement and our officers of the law. PERIOD.
On behalf of my husband Jim and myself, Jana, I want to extend our heartfelt, deepest sympathy to all of you, for the ENORMOUS LOSS OF BRAD.
All our best,
Jim and Jana Everitt (Granite Bay, Ca.)

I was lucky enough to go to high school with Brad my Freshman year and cheer for 2 years with his little sister Jenny. I feel fortunate to have known him. He had a contageous smile and I'm thankful that I was blessed to have met him.
Jenny and family, I am so very sorry for your loss. When I heard the news, I prayed it wasn't him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and will continue to be with you.
Susan, I do not know you but words cannot express my grief for you and your girls. From what I heard about Brad's funeral, you were an inspiration and a pillar of strength. You and your girls will continue to be in my prayers and I wish you strength and courage in this tragic time.
Thank you Brad; for your smile, for your service, for the memories your friends and families will cherish, for giving your life to someone in need. We will all be forever grateful and thankful for you, our Hero.
All my love, Megan Lewis
