Joey Elliot Director of Ops - Oakland Coliseum October 7, 2008

We live close to the Richmond Police Station.  Each and every day we see officers coming and going.  We always wave to all of the officers we pass, and they always wave and smile back.  Just last week, I was sitting at the light by Longs, and next to me was Officer Moody, and his dog.  I remember distinctly thinking how young Officer Moody was.  I spent the whole light admiring the K-9 Officer in the back.  Officer Moody noticed me staring in the back of his police cruiser, and he smiled and waved.  You could tell he was proud of his work, his community, and his partner.  In that brief exchange at the light, I was happy to be part of this community.  I can see the accident site from my house, and we heard the accident on Saturday morning.  Last night, we saw a line of officers with their lights flashing stopped and paying respects.  We knew that officer Mood hadn't made it.  I stood silently in the dark, watching the officers, and their red and blue lights piercing the dark, and my heart went out to each of them.  May each of you be blessed as you protect our community, and to Officer Moody's family, I only hope that in your loss, you see that something truly beautiful remains...and that is the Memory of a great man.  ~Joey and Kenny

Old Jr. High Classmate~ Thoughts & Prayers October 7, 2008

My thoughts and prayers go out to Brad's family & friends. I knew Brad at Golden West Jr. High. He always had a smile on his face when seeing him on campus.  It's really sad to see someone go as young as Brad, but we all know he is in a better place and will no longer have to suffer.  May God Bless You!

I knew Brad while I worked as a security officer at Crescent Park in Richmond.  He was always kind and extremely good at his job.  He had the twinkle in his eye, that spark that showed the good in him.  You will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.  This place we call earth will be a darker place without you in it.  God Bless you Brad.

God has opened the gates of Heaven for a true Angel to enter. Officer Brad Moody was so professional but yet so very friendly to all of the tenants here at the Barrett Terrace and Plaza Apartments. Officer Moody was part of our family and we will miss him dearly, especially the children. Officer Moody and Rico participated in our community event on August 22, 2008. Richmond Police Department has lost a mighty warrior. Our prayers go out to his wife Susan and family.
