Condolences
Christine Ottinger Solano Dispatcher/Friend October 6, 2008

I went to high school with Brad.  Even when we were teenagers you could tell he was going to accomplish great things.  He was the type of person you wanted to be around....always very considerate of those around him.  I got the pleasure of being one of his first dispatchers when he started his law enforcement career with Solano Community College.  We both got such a kick out of it!  The last time I saw him was at our 10 yr high school reunion.  I met his beautiful wife Susan.  She was expecting their second child and they looked very much in love.  Being part of the law enforcement family, we know and understand the dangers our brothers and sisters face on a daily basis.  It never makes it easier.  I feel truly blessed to have known Brad and call him a friend.  My heart, thoughts, and prayers go to his family and agency.  Brad, you will be greatly missed.

THE FINAL INSPECTION

The policeman stood to face his God, which must always come to pass.

He hoped his boots were shining, just as brightly as his brass.

“Step forward now, Policeman.  How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?”

The policeman squared his shoulder’s and said, “No Lord, I guess I ain’t,

Because those of us who carry badges can’t always be a saint.”

I’ve had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough,

And sometimes I’ve been violent, because the streets are awfully tough.

“But I never took a penny that wasn’t mine to keep…..

Though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got to steep…”

And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear.

And sometimes, God forgive me, I’ve wept unmanly tears.

I know I don’t deserve a place among the people here.

They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.”

“If you’ve got a place for me here Lord, It needn’t be so grand.

I never expected or had too much, but if you don’t mind….I’ll understand.”

There was silence all around the throne where the saints often trod.

As the policeman waited quietly, for the judgment of his God.

“Step forward now, Policeman.  You’ve borne your burdens well.

Come walk a beat in Heaven’s streets, you’ve done your time in Hell.”

GARY MCPHERSON RETIRED SCC POLICE OFFICER October 6, 2008

I was blessed to have worked with Brad almost daily at Solano Collage police dept.He was a police aide there. It seemed we had a great bond and had fun working together. He loved to ride with me and assist me in writing out cites. My wife and I attended his wedding and met his lovely wife and family.I missed working with him when he went to RPD but I knew he was doing what he loved to do.RPD has lost a very outstanding officer and they will have a hard time filling his shoes.

My wife is Greek and she has driven to the Greek church in Vallejo daily to light a candle in is name.Bless is family and friends and keep all of his co-workeds safe.

Friend Condolences October 6, 2008
Heartfelt condolences to all Brad's family and friends.  I want so badly to write something profound to take away all the pain and hurt, but I don't think any words can accomplish that.  Please find comfort in the fact that Brad was truly an amazing man who touched many, many lives.
Kalani Souza Modesto PD K9 October 6, 2008
I did not know you, but it hurts to see a fallen officer from any agency.  I feel we are part of an even closer family because we both shared a passion for working police dogs, and both born in Hawaii.  Go walk the streets of heaven brother, for you have already worked the streets of hell.  Godspeed.
Mark Williams (Skip) CCCSO Deputy October 6, 2008

Ofc. Tagorda Your smile will be missed! October 6, 2008

Brad,

I've only been with the department for a short time and you were always a very down to earth person who always use to make everybody laugh in the locker room. I will always remember that about you! Never stop smiling and laughing....

Aaron Cristofani Police Explorer October 6, 2008
Brad,

I can't believe you are gone...you were my mentor, my teacher, and above all my hero. You taught me so much. It seems like yesterday that you were pinning my captain bars on at my last explorer promotion. You may be gone but NEVER will you be forgotten.

I love you...thanks for everything...
