Condolences
Steve Van Zeveren Former coworker October 8, 2008
I was a fellow Police aid with Brad at Solano Community College.  I always new from  the moment I met Brad he was meant to be a police officer.  He wanted it so bad and was a natural.  Even though I lost interest in law enforcement  I admired his ambition, can do attitude and sense of humor.  You have my sympathy.

Where does one even think to begin?  Only several months out of the Police Academy and trying to get on with the Richmond Police Dept. I rode with a young Police Officer who wasn't that far out of his probation.  I could tell even then that Brad was a man's man and cop's cop.  Eager to do the job RIGHT and honestly.  He made me feel like a part of his team from the time we logged on until the time we logged off.  My deepest and most sincere condolances to Brad's family and his Richmond Police Dept. brothers and sisters.  He will ALWAYS be remembered.  rest in Peace brother.

To The Moody Family,

I have been sitting here trying to think of what to write and I haven't been able to put my feelings into words.  So until then I want to leave you with this.  I didn't know that Brad was born in Hawaii as I was.  This is a traditional Hawaiian song that we sing for Loved Ones that we have lost back home in the islands.  This is dedicated to The Moody Ohana from my Ohana...

Let me walk through Paradise with you Lord

Take my hand and lead me there

All my earthy treasures I will gladly give

Teach me how to love and to share

greed and lust wand vanity were mine lord

Then I found your love divine

now on my knees I pray that I can find the way

Let me walk through Paradise with you Lord

The Brothers and Sisters of Huntington Beach Police Department mourn for your loss.  Together you can get through this and become a stronger brotherhood.  All of us bleed blue.  Officer Moody was your "Superman".  Memorialize him so he will never be forgotten. Take care of Officer Moody's family; he will live through them.

Brad, where do I begin? I am at a loss for words bro, and you know that doesn’t happen often. I will miss you so much brother as well as everyone else. It seems like yesterday I was sitting in the passenger seat of your bucket (LOL) and had Rico barking my ear off, as we rolled through the city getting bad guys. Thanks to you Bailey and I gained more experience than any other cadet should. You and I spoke Friday afternoon for a while in the locker room, and cracked jokes as we always did, and you got the last one in. so I owe you one, when we meet again in heaven brother. I can’t believe you are gone. Keep the angels safe bro, and watch over us down here. I love you Brad, rest in peace.

Ron Priebe & "Muzzy" Police Officer PHPD October 8, 2008
It's officers like Brad whose actions and dedication motivate others to do better, train harder, and make a difference, both in our professional and personal lives. In this time of sadness, we pray for your strength and thank you for Brad's contribution to this law enforcement community. He will be truly missed and I am deeply sorry for your loss.
Louie Tirona RPD October 8, 2008

To Susan, and the entire Moody family,

I wish to extend my deepest condolences.   I had the honor of working alongside Brad on several occasions, and he always struck me as one of Richmond's finest.  I know that statement can seem trite, however in this case, it is a true statement.  Brad's exceptional work ethic was exemplified by the amazing results of his crime-fighting efforts.  He always exuded a certain quiet strength, and his positive influence on all those with whom he worked was amazing.  More importantly than that, I know Brad was a devoted husband and father.

My only regret is that I did not have the opportunity to work with him more closely.

Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei.  Requiescat  in pace. Amen

Schoenberg Family Friend/neighbor October 8, 2008
I had the pleasure of meeting Brad as a young boy helping his Dad with work. I had the delight seeing him grow into a young eager teenager full of life.  Years later we had the honor of being his next door neighbor for the past four and a half years.
During that time we enjoyed watching Brad and Susan become parents to two beautiful little girls, build a perfect home and life together. I cannot imagine a better, noble young man to live next to. Thank you for giving us the honor of being in our life.

Susan, Emma, Maddy, Jim, Betty and the entire Moody family, There are no words I can say that will encompass our condolence other then you're in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Please know we are only a door step away.
Lori Bush Pollice Officer BART PD October 8, 2008

I am here to send my regards to Brad's wife and two young daughter's.  I never had the opportunity to meet Brad but the reaction on my partner's face when she told me that she just got word from her husband (also a Richmond Officer) that Brad was involved in a very serious accident and it was unclear if he would make it.  I remember at that exact moment we both started crying just the fact that a family would have to suffer.

I can only say with everything I have heard Brad was both a wonderful man and a well liked and established Officer.

The Lord only has the BEST walking with him.

April Phillips Condolences October 8, 2008

My condolences to the Moody Family. I don't know Brad personally, but I know his mother and had the pleasure of working with her in the Travis Unified School District. My heart goes out to the family and I pray that God gives your family the strength to make it during this difficult time.

May God Bless and Keep your family in His perfect peace.
